  • VIÑAS DEL VERO SOMONTANO D.O. ARAGON (SPAIN)
La Miranda de Secastilla is based on Grenache, cultivated at more than 700 metres above the sea level, but is complemented with two varieties more: Syrah and the indigenous "Parraleta", which just can be found in Somontano. These three varieties are hand harvested and the best bunches are selected prior to fermentation. After being racked several times, the wine remains eight months in French oak barrels. This unique wine shows a deep color with violet rim, elegant and attractive. Fresh aromas, black fruits, prunes, violet and some soft touches of toasted oak and sweet liquorice. Elegant expression on the palate with an explosion of flavours, velvety with a clean finish. It's perfect with with red meat, roasts, oily fish, cheese and desserts, served at 14-16ºC.

  • VIÑAS DEL VERO SOMONTANO D.O. ARAGON (SPAIN)
La Miranda Garnacha Blanca 2013 is a real discovery given how scarce the variety is. Secastila vineyard, located in the northeast of Somontano, offers great climatic conditions to grow the unique Garnacha Blanca (white Grenache). These grapes are hand harvested, and after a meticulous wine-making, the wine remains four months in French oak barrels. As a result, it shows a bright yellow color infused by a green iridescence. It is intensely aromatic, delivering a surprising amount of white fruit complemented by notes of nuts. It is flavoursome in the mouth, well balanced and has a great personality. This is undoubtedly a truly elegant, highly distinctive wine, perfect to be served at 8-10ºC with appetizers, salads, fish, rice dishes, foie gras and goat's cheeses.

  • BODEGAS PIRINEOS SOMONTANO D.O. ARAGON (SPAIN)
Our Garnacha is the freshest and fruitiest of Spain thanks to its origin from the cooler climate vineyards in the foothills of the Pyrenees, set on sandy and limestone soils. The vineyards are traditional with no irrigation producing a low yield with small grape size allowing for a wine with great fruit concentration. Deep red colour with violet glints. Fresh aromas of cherries, blackberries and raspberries with somepeppery spice and hints of vanilla and oak. Soft and juicy on the palate with great aromatic persistence.

  • VIÑAS DEL VERO SOMONTANO D.O. ARAGON (SPAIN)
The grapes used for Secastilla are obtained from the oldest vines from Secastilla Valley, where Grenache is the traditional variety. The vineyard lies on stony hillsides at more than 700 metres above sea level, with a particular orientation an a relative altitude perfect for a slow ripening. The few bunches from these very old vines are selected at the moment they are harvested. Also in the vineyard, the grapes are de-stemmed and chilled before being taken to the winery. There, the fermentation takes about fifteen days, and after that, the wine is transferred to new French oak barrels, where it remains for ten months. Secastilla 2010 is the purest expression of Garnacha grapes grown at altitude. Because the fruit ripens slowly its freshest features are evident in the wine, particularly the aromas of sharp red fruits such as cherries and wild fruit such as blackcurrants, accompanied by a background of good toasted wood reminiscent of chocolate and Havana cigars. The sensations perceived on the nose are echoed in the mouth, providing a satisfying, full flavour with a long finish. Perfect to be served with roasts, stews, red meat and game.
